Shocking Art

For my shocking art piece I was having a hard time decideing what issue I wanted to address. My teacher Amy lent me a book on controversial ceramics and I got a few really good ideas. I finally decided that I wanted to make a piece that addresses eating disorders, specifically bulimia. The picture below is my inspiration for my project by Marcel Duchamp. I want to make a "ready-made" piece using a toliet.. what are your thoughts?

Some summer projects

This summer I visited some beautiful places and I made a few pieces that were inspired by Andy Goldsworthy.

AP Retreat at Menucha

I had a really great experience this weekend at Menucha with the ap art class. The guest artist was really cool and I learned some new techniques. I really like the piece I made this weekend and hopefully it will turn into something I can include in my portfolio. The weather was really great and the Andy Goldsworthy project we made on sunday was really fun, my face even got sunburned. playing bop-it and catch phrase was a really good way to break the ice with everyone and ten fingers was probably the funniest game I have played in a long long time. I am really optimistic about this year, I believe that the more comfortable we get with each other and the more we learn together will make this year really special.
